Winter Retreat Day (Held Online) Awakening to Beauty

Awakening to beauty and awakening beauty in times and places of loss

Exploring and experiencing the theme of ‘Awakening to Beauty’, this Retreat Day will explore the times of loss that we are currently living through in Australia and the Pacific due to fire, flood and pandemic. Almost everyone who commented on the loss and pain endured through the fires by flora, fauna, people and our land and the isolation and uncertainty endured through the pandemic is awake to the beauty revealed in the solidarity, hospitality and courage of people working to control and put out the fires and protect and care for the vulnerable in our communities.

The exploration seeks to find hope in opening to the pain of loss and strengthening our personal and collective commitment to be present to, and help create, beauty in all its forms.

Eremos Retreat Days provide gentle guidance and space for you to engage in a way that feeds your soul and spirit. We invite you to join Janet, Alex and Bethany, our skilled retreat leaders, to explore this topic using a range of mediums such as reflecting on the insights from spiritual writers, poetry, silence, meditation, music, imagery, small group sharing and time on your own for personal reflection.

This Retreat Day is offered in two parts:

Part 1: Wednesday 1 July 2020, 7.30pm to 8.30pm via ZOOM. Part 1 provides an opportunity to become familiar with ZOOM and introduce the program and theme for the Retreat Day.

Part 2: Saturday 4 July 2020, 10am to 2pm via ZOOM. Part 2 provides an opportunity for opening and closing gatherings, similar to our in person Retreat Days, and for an extended break in the middle for the day for personal reflection and lunch.

Cost: $20 or free for Eremos members.
