Introductory Session online Wednesday, September 20, 2023
7.00-8.00pm
then 5 Wednesday evenings online October 4 - November 1, 2023
6.00-7.10pm - AEST, 7.00-8.10pm - ADST
You are welcome to attend a few sessions at the beginning of the series, or the whole series.
Facilitated by Judith Keller
Please note the starting time in Queensland for the series is 6 pm. The time changes on the East coast on 1 October from AEST to ADST except Queensland which remains AEST.
This series is for those who love to interweave poetry in their lives, for whom poetry is ‘soul food.’ All poetry for the series may be accessed from the mindfulness poetry website A Year of Being Here. There will be opportunities to select your own poems from the website on designated themes. We will also focus on a few selected poets (Wendell Berry, and Ellen Bass).
A willingness to read poetry aloud will be welcomed. There will be time for you to express what draws you to a particular poem and where it resonates for you. The series is not about writing poetry, but you will find support for this if you do write poetry.
In a few sessions we will engage in a deeper listening process to selected poems which Judith will facilitate - a process referred to as lectio divina/sacred reading of poetry.
For further information including an outline of the sessions and what to bring, including to the introductory session, contact Judith Keller jdancerk@gmail.com
ZOOM invitations will be sent to registrants on the days of sessions, earlier in the day.
There is no cost for the series.
You are welcome to attend a few sessions at the beginning of the series, or the whole series.

Of note, a selection of poems from this website were later curated into the book, Poetry of Presence. An additional book, Poetry of Presence II: More Mindfulness Poems has recently been published. The editors are Phyllis Cole-Dai and Ruby Wilson. It is not necessary to have these books but if you are a mindfulness poetry lover, they are worth knowing about.
Please join us for an Introductory session Wednesday 20 September at 7:00 PM AEST with Judith. Interested people are encouraged to attend. Contact Judith jdancerk@gmail.com to register.
There is no charge for this poetry series.
