Feasting and Fasting through Lent
Retreat Day
Feasting and Fasting through Lent
Saturday 17 February 2024
10.00am to 4.00pm
St Andrew's Uniting Church, Glenbrook, 7 Green Street, Glenbrook
Join us as we gather together for our first Retreat Day of the year in Glenbrook and enjoy a slower pace in the lovely natural surroundings of the Blue Mountains. We look forward to enjoying the hospitality of St Andrew's as we use this venue for the first time.
This Retreat Day offers the opportunity to reconnect with ourselves through rest and sacred reading; with others in a shared meal and thoughtful conversation; with nature through contemplative walking and with the transcendent through prayerful silence.
Bethany South will be your guide for the day and will offer considered input, gentle facilitation, and room for your own exploration. Stroll in the local park, tree-lined streets and enjoy the gardens and share your insights with others as you recharge and renew your body and soul.
Morning tea and lunch are provided.
The church is a short walk from Glenbrook station* (see note below) and there is street parking available.
Please register by Friday 9 February
Numbers are limited, so please register soon to avoid disappointment.
Cost: $50 or $40 for Eremos members. Early bird discount of $10 if booking by 1 February.
Bethany South is an experienced retreat leader, a member of the Eremos Retreat Team and the Australian Network for Spiritual Direction (ANSD). Bethany is inspired by the rhythms of life and the Jewish Sabbath and seeks to offer gentle and hospitable spaces for reflection and conversation.
Your online registration assists our volunteer events team. However, if you prefer to pay by bank transfer, please contact us at events@eremos.org.au for details.

Travelling by train: A local resident advises that you ignore the Google maps route from Glenbrook Railway station walking to the church. A simpler route is to get off the train and come up the stairs or use the lift to street level and you're in Burfitt Parade, cross over the road to Ross St, walk up Ross St right into Park St and round the corner to the church.
